About Ayurveda
Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine rooted in the wisdom of the Vedas, represents more than five thousand years of holistic healthcare knowledge. Codified around 1000 B.C. in classical texts such as the Charak Samhita and Sushruta Samhita, Ayurveda is founded on the principle that every individual is unique and that true health lies in balance rather than symptomatic treatment. It is not merely a medical system, but a complete way of life.
The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words Ayus (life) and Veda (knowledge), meaning the “Science of Life.” It views life as the harmonious integration of body, senses, mind, and soul. According to Ayurvedic philosophy, the human body is governed by three fundamental doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—supported by seven vital tissues (Dhatus) and regulated by metabolic fire (Agni). Health is maintained through balance among these elements, while disease arises from disharmony.
Ayurveda further explains that all matter in the universe, including the human body, is composed of five basic elements (Panchamahabhutas): Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether. These elements combine in varying proportions to form bodily structures and physiological functions. Nutrition, digestion, metabolism, and assimilation play a central role in sustaining this balance, reinforcing Ayurveda’s emphasis on preventive care and natural healing.

Shiv Herbal Limited was established with a vision to preserve, practice, and propagate the timeless principles of Ayurveda through scientifically guided manufacturing and uncompromising quality standards. Incorporated on 17th October 1986 and commencing commercial production in September 1988, the company has grown into a trusted name in Ayurvedic pharmaceutical manufacturing. In June 1996, Shiv Herbal transitioned into a closely held Public Limited Company, marking a significant milestone in its growth journey.
Located at M.I.D.C. Hingna Road, Nagpur, our manufacturing facility is spread across 1,000 square meters of land with a 1,416 square meter, three-storey production building, designed to support efficient, compliant, and scalable operations. We operate under valid Ayurvedic manufacturing licenses and statutory registrations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and quality benchmarks.
